I can not think of a year that has held so much anticipation, excitement, or been so eventful as 2010 has been. It has had it’s ups and downs, as every year does, but I can’t help but think this past year has been my best one yet.
In January…
I packed up all of my possessions and moved seven hundred miles away, to a new country with my boyfriend of just over a year.
Then I began my dream of going to culinary school.
In February…
I celebrated my second valentines day with Nick and discovered a now favorite place in the city: The St. Lawrence Market.
I poured out my heart and for the first time, wrote candidly about my past eating issues for NEDA awareness week.
In March…
I attended my first ever blogger meetup in Toronto at Fressen!
My best friend and her boyfriend visited us in Toronto for a quick but fun-filled few days. It was nice to see some familiar faces after nearly three months in Toronto!
In April…
I took my first trip home to see my family for Easter, and
considered returning to a vegetarian diet.
In May…
We adopted a six-month-old kitten and named her Stella.
I ran my first 5k in two years.
I got ENGAGED!
In June…
I decided being vegetarian wasn’t for me.
At least not when preparing food like this!
In July…
We had our beautiful engagement pictures taken by Scott.
I got on a plane by myself for the first time ever, to celebrate my twenty first birthday with my family.
In August…
I married that boyfriend of nearly two years, my love, in a small backyard ceremony.
I had a revelation about eating for me, and no one else.
In September…
I fulfilled my dream of graduating from culinary school, with a degree in Culinary Management.
and headed off for a three-week staycation at my parents’ house in Rhode Island.
In October…
I began my effort to eat more locally and seasonally, a commitment very close to my heart which I am still working hard at today.
In November…
Nick and I celebrated our first married Thanksgiving (USA) in Rhode Island with my family [and ran five miles together].
I began a 10-day, very controversial detox which I had amazing results from.
In December…
I traveled all over, from Sarnia to Rhode Island, back to Toronto, to Calgary and back and all the way back to Rhode Island to ring in the new year. Including such adventures as walking to the middle of Lake Louise and learning how to cross-country ski.
We celebrated our first Christmas together as husband and wife.
It was an unforgettable year. I can’t wait to see what comes in January.
