I create lots of recipes per month. I mean lots. Lots more than appear on the blog. I create recipes in hopes of having a large selection for putting on the blog. I create recipes for fun. I create recipes for my revolving seasonal menu for my personal chef business. And I put up recipes, four, sometimes five days a week on the blog- that’s over 15 recipes a month I share with you. So how do you distinguish between the recipes that are good, and the recipes that are really, really make-right-now good?
Here’s how! At the end of each month, I am going to share my five favorite recipes from the month with you, and tell you exactly why I love them oh so much. How does that sound? Trying some new stuff over here in the new year. I’m likin’ it.
Spicy, savory, meaty- this is my favorite non-vegetarian chili to date. The fact that it’s a crock pot recipe is even better- throw it in and leave it for the day, come home to a delicious, hearty dinner.
4. Muhammara
Being my all-time favorite dip (yes, I’ve decided it even beats hummus in my book) it goes without saying this is one of the favorites for this month. Too bad I photographed it on a rainy day- the photos don’t give this delicious dipper justice!
3. Rotisserie-style slow-cooked chicken
Another slow cooker recipe. I had to. I’m obsessed! But this is really the best slow cooker chicken I’ve made- the sweet, smoky, savory flavor just can’t be beat! And it bears repeating: EASY EASY EASY! Love it.
This was a recipe I came up with out of just ingredients I already had in the house. All simple, common pantry or fridge ingredients but the flavor is warm and comforting- perfect for winter. Definitely my favorite meat-free recipe of the month!
1. Orange-infused coffee cake with walnut streusel topping
And last, but very certainly not least- my FAVORITE recipe this month was the orange walnut coffee cake! We went through this far too quick, but with good reason- it’s one of my favorite dessert recipes, ever!
What was your favorite recipe in January?
