{Monday Mentions} Things I am.

by Kris on August 20, 2012

It’s been a while since my last Monday Mentions post- so I figured there’s no time like the present to start it up again! I love sharing my current favorites with all of you, and I will turn comments on so you can do the same! Today I am sharing with you a few things- things I am loving, things I am drooling over, and things I am looking forward to. What are you loving and looking forward to?

{Things I am loving}

Instagram. Like, a lot a lot. A bit obsessed, perhaps- but it’s a great way to share snapshots of my day with friends. Follow me @chefkristinrugg- share your handle if you have one, I’d love to  check it out!

Starbucks Refreshers. I have been a longtime Starbucks lover, and I have recently rekindled my love, especially since there is one within walking distance of both our docks in Montreal and my new home. I usually opt for a Tazo tea, but their fruity refreshers, made with antioxidant-rich green coffee- are my new favorite occasional afternoon treat. My only qualm? Way overpriced, Starbucks! Thank goodness for treat receipts. ;)

Local Peaches. As if I didn’t make it obvious enough in my last post, just wait until Wednesday—in love!

Alex & Ani bangle bracelet. They’re popular on the East Coast, so I’m way behind on the style back home, since I just received my first from my sister on my birthday (Thanks, Ali!) but I adore my Om charm and spend far too many hours browsing their wide selection of bangles.

Walking. Everywhere. I love my daily walks up the street to the Go station, to Starbucks, around Harbourfront. Especially while listening to this cd.

{Things I am drooling over}

Lime and Coconut Chicken. This sounds divine- and super easy!

Broccoli, Avocado and Wild Rice Salad. Woah! Stop.  Dinnertime. (yes I did)

Coconut Chocolate Banana Bread. I die just looking at it!!

Heirloom Tomato Salad. Summer perfection.

Chakra Fruit Salad. The interesting addition of a tahini dressing makes an ordinary fruit salad sound extraordinary!

{Things I am looking forward to}

My mom to arrive! She should be getting here around the time this entry is posted, and I am looking forward to a fun few days of CNE exploring, Spa days and Vintage shopping trips. Expect a lot of instagram documentation (see above!).

Montreal (again). I fell in love with the old world charm of the Quebec city in July, and can’t wait for another month in September. Anyone in the area? I’d love to meet up for a tea or a crepe!

Fall. Oh, fall! I am so looking forward to the cooler weather. I love the heat of summer, don’t get me wrong- but there comes a time for change and I am ready! Apple picking, cozy sweaters and pumpkin-spiced everything. Autumn is my favorite time of year.

Tell me- what are you loving and looking forward to?
