About Me

Hi, I’m Kristin Rugg Dovbniak. Natural foods chef living with my sailor husband and our two rambunctious kittens in Toronto, Canada. I love food. I have a passion for wholesome, fresh, healthful foods that are energizing and nourishing. Foods that feed your body and warm your soul.I work as a personal chef doing dinner parties, weekly meal preparation and private classes. I’m also the kitchen manager at the Meghan Telpner Culinary Academy here in Toronto.

Once upon a time I went to school for nutrition, and most recently I graduated from Liaison College with a degree in Culinary Arts. After years of struggling with digestive problems and trying to find my way in the world of healthy eating, I have found my balance eating pure, whole foods close to the source. My goal through this blog and my career as a personal chef is to show others how amazing they can feel with the power of whole foods and that living with food intolerances can open a whole new world of health-supporting flavor.

I believe in hot cups of tea on cool mornings. That yoga can cure all.  I believe in long walks along the water at sunset. Kale chips. Cupcakes. Spinach in smoothies. And sharing good food with the world. Nothing makes me happier.

Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be bland or boring, in fact, it can be downright delicious.

Grab a fork and stay a while.

Hi Kris,

We sound similar in our approach to food!

Your glasses are cute. I wear glasses because things that are far away are blurry (is that far sighted or near sighted?) but I rarely get photographed while wearing them seeing yours makes me want to see mine! Ha!!!!

Thanks for commenting on my post about Janetha and Momma B! It was fun to find your blog!

Hi! I found your blog via OhSheGlows (I bet your blog stats are going crazy now that she linked to you!) and I had to comment because I’m also from RI (though I live in Wisconsin now, eek). :) So, RI food blogger pride! Or something.

Anyway, best of luck working with Angela! I bet it’ll be the best job ever. :)

Hi Kristin! I just found your site and I’m so excited that I did. I’m really looking forward to following you and reading about your journey with food, cooking, eating, and health. But I think reading your posts would be THAT much better if I made some of your raw nut fudge balls :)
